Who we are
TechFlipper UK Ltd (“we”) is the data controller for personal data collected through techflipper.uk. Contact: privacy@techflipper.uk.
What data we collect
- Account data: email address, username, display name, bio, avatar.
- Transaction data: order details, shipping addresses, payment references (not card numbers — these go directly to Stripe).
- Listing data: photos, descriptions, prices you submit.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, device/browser type (via server logs).
- Communications: support emails, dispute messages.
How we use your data
- To provide and operate the marketplace (contract performance).
- To process payments via Stripe (contract performance).
- To send transactional emails: order confirmation, shipping updates (contract performance).
- To detect and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
- To comply with legal obligations.
Who we share data with
- Stripe Inc: payment processing and seller identity verification.
- Hosting provider (Plesk/server host): data stored on servers in the EEA.
- Other users: your username, display name, and listing content are public. Your shipping address is shared only with the relevant seller.
We do not sell your personal data.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; erase your data (where applicable); object to processing; data portability. To exercise these rights, email privacy@techflipper.uk. You may also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active and for 3 years after deletion to satisfy legal obligations. Transaction records are kept for 7 years (UK tax law). Server logs are retained for 90 days.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie (necessary for login). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
