Who we are

TechFlipper UK is a trading name of A38IT Ltd (“we”, “us”), the data controller for personal data collected through techflipper.uk. A38IT Ltd is registered in England & Wales. VAT No. GB 448 590 459.

What data we collect

  • Account data: email address, username, display name, bio, avatar.
  • Transaction data: order details, shipping addresses, payment references (not card numbers — these go directly to Stripe).
  • Listing data: photos, descriptions, prices you submit.
  • Shipping data: recipient name and address shared with our shipping provider to generate labels.
  • Usage data: pages visited, search queries, device/browser type (via server logs).
  • Communications: support emails, dispute messages.

How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the marketplace (contract performance).
  • To process payments via Stripe (contract performance).
  • To generate shipping labels and book couriers via EasyShip (contract performance).
  • To send transactional emails: order confirmation, shipping updates (contract performance).
  • To detect and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share data with

  • Stripe Inc: payment processing and seller identity verification.
  • EasyShip: shipping label generation and courier booking. Recipient name, delivery address and order reference are shared to generate labels and book collections.
  • Hosting provider (Fasthosts/Plesk): data stored on servers in the EEA.
  • Other users: your username, display name, and listing content are public. Your shipping address is shared only with the relevant seller to fulfil your order.

We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; erase your data (where applicable); restrict processing; object to processing; data portability. To exercise these rights, email privacy@techflipper.uk. You may also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active and for 3 years after deletion to satisfy legal obligations. Transaction records are kept for 7 years (UK tax law). Server logs are retained for 90 days.

International transfers

Stripe and EasyShip may process data outside the UK/EEA. Both operate under appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy and EasyShip’s Privacy Policy for details.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie (necessary for login). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
